Life is beautiful; it’s precious, kind, painful, joyful, stressful, patient, difficult, and so much more. Yet, it’s your job to sustain it regardless of how it is. Here are seven ways to do just that!
1. Ground Yourself
- This could look like a number of things for people, such as:
- spending quiet time with God and meditating in His presence
- drinking tea while reading a book
- watching your favorite show
- listening to uplifting and calming music
- going on walks
- stretching and focused breathing
- Whatever it is, bring yourself back to life from the stressors of this world and pour into yourself before and after pouring into others
- “When I go home, it’s an easy way to be grounded. You learn what truly matters.” – Tony Stewart

2. Self-Care
- Grounding oneself is indeed a form of self-care, as are all of the other five ways to live a more sustainable life. Self-care is an ongoing an daily aspect of like, so don’t try to skit it! You can care for yourself by:
- covering yourself in the Lord’s Goodness
- forming a routine, sticking to it, and altering it as needed
- completing a morning/night skin-care routine everyday
- enjoying a spa day, nail day, hair day, whatever day, make it special, make it yours
- sacrificing something weekly (fast food, screen-time, coffee, social media, etc.) and replace it with something else
“An empty lantern provides no light. Self-care is the fuel that allows your light to shine brightly.” – Unknown
3. Exercise
- If you’re not a gym-girly, that’s okay. You can start off slowly by making your home and the great outdoors your gym. But, like every at-home workout video will tell you “you gotta stay consistent!”
- Part of that routine listed in #2 should involve working out multiple times a week and moving your body everyday
- Exercise includes:
- walking/jogging
- stretching
- biking
- swimming
- hiking
- sporting? (wanted to keep the -ing going)
- Do not feel like you must have a gym-membership to stay in shape, there are many ways to remain physically active each day

4. Nutrition
- Girl stop acting like you didn’t see it coming after #3 🤣
- Just playing, but exercise & nutrition go hand-in-hand, and if you’re anything like me, this is the hardest part!
- But it’s ok – once you start, it’ll get much easier. You can start by adding way more fruits and veggies into you diet until you work up the strength to actually start cooking healthier meals
- Don’t forget a little snacky-snack and desert for ✨balance✨
- The better I get at nutrition, the more I’ll post about it, but until then you’ve got this!
- “Our food should be our medicine, and out medicine should be our food.” – Hippocrates
5. Fun/Memorable Times
- Get out and have some fun with your girlies, with your man, with your family, with a kind stranger – just do something!
- Life isn’t all about the hustle and bustle; you can also enjoy worry-free nights, hours, or days depending on what your life permits at this time.
- try to clear your mind and enjoy what life has to offer
- Create good and lasting memories with those that you love and spend time with yourself
- Try something that you’ve never done before – go to a food festival, a vineyard, a boat, or make your home a place where you can have a good time.
- Remember when life was simple? It may not seem like that now, but for a moment, it can.

“Live and work but do not forget to play, to have fun in life and really enjoy it.” -Eileen Caddy

6. Declutter
- I know it may be easier said than done, but if you’re living in clutter, clean it up and enjoy the reward of getting closer to peace
- Declutter your mind and rid yourself of:
- anger
- regret
- revenge
- overthinking
- judgement
- impatience
- unforgiveness
- fear
- control
- Delete all those photos on your phone that mean nothing to you and free up some storage
- Declutter anything you’ve been hoarding that no longer serves a purpose in your life
- Make your well-being and peace a priority, and do what you must to achieve it
7. Balance/Moderation
- I know you’ve heard that everything should be in moderation, and you’ve heard so because it’s true – too much of a good thing can become a bad thing
- There’s a good change that your life may never be in perfect equilibrium with all the opposing forces, but for the aspects of life that you can control, mange them and keep them in balance
- Do not harp on or dwell on the things that do not go your way
- Let the above six steps of this post harmonize and flow with one another to create a well-balanced and sustainable life
- “Achieve balance through the combined conscious states of the heart and mind.” -Steven Redhead

I tend to get off topic, but I truly hope that you connect with the words of this post and implement as much -and even more- of it as you can.
