Listen, Valentine’s Day is swiftly approaching, and when I say this is a must-try Valentine’s Day date idea, I mean it.

Don’t just watch a movie- become it!
It’s me, UCU- you saw something like this coming from the heartthrob, hopeless romantic that I am. But if you have a movie planned in your head to watch on Valentine’s day with your lover, erase it, and become the movie.
Plan out the day or evening (or whenever you plan to spend time with each other that day) and simply act like you’re in a movie.
You can either pick a movie or script one, but act out the scenes of a beautiful romance story.

Seriously, Plan it Out!
If your favorite romance movie starts as enemies-to-lovers, BECOME ENEMIES… TO LOVERS. Hate that man until it’s time to love him. Go to the types of places that you saw in the movie and create that atmosphere.
If it begins as an unrequited love story, figure out which of you should play the loser in love with someone that pays them no mind. Act these scenes out either how you’ve seen it done, or make it uniquely your own.
Say you want to write a script, but you’re not the best writer- just leave the date up to your interactions with each other. Don’t focus so much on words, but the intensity of your love, the eye contact, the scent, the longing, the dying for something real.
- Please don’t mistake this as something sexual (although what y’all do is none of my business child)- just have fun with it and try something different.
- Spend your date feeding off each others energy, and have something to laugh about the next day
“You jump, I jump, remember? I can’t turn away without knowing you’ll be all right.”
-Jack to Rose
You probably weren’t expecting this particular date idea, but that’s kind of the whole point. Yeah, cooking is nice, or going to a nice dinner is fun too, but you can make it better! Make it a romantic cooking scene or intense romantic dinner scene. There are tons of movies to choose from, but remember that you can make it your own!
Create new memories that you will live to never forget, Happy Valentine’s Day.
