Okay, okay -I know… I’ve been MIA for far too long! But now that the great holidays are coming, it’s time I come back to life. Here’s how to keep your sweet, adorable kiddos entertained during Thanksgiving break.

1. At Home Movie Night
- Create a festive movie night experience that your kids will absolutely love.
- Throw mattresses on the ground, add cozy blankets, pillows, and their favorite snacks and goodies.
- A few great movie choices:
- Dunston Checks In
- The Parent Trap
- Cheaper by the Dozen
- Daddy Day Care
- Yours, Mine & Ours
- The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
- The BFG
- Enchanted
2. Ultimate Turkey Painting Competition
- Print out or display a picture of a cartoon or clip-art turkey, giving each kid 15 seconds to examine it before painting their best replica.
- You and Dad can decide who will win the ultimate grand prize.
- If your kiddos are very young, it’s probably best that the prize is something everyone can share — assuming the winner is as sweet as you, of course.

- If you’re not dealing with teenagers, then you know just how hands-on kids can be.
- Baking their own pies is perfect for letting them get involved!
- While they’re making their (adorably) disastrous creations, be sure to bake a beautiful one you can all enjoy — just in case, of course 😉.
4. Short Stories, Hot Chocolate, Goodnight Hugs & Kisses
- You all know I love a good short story *>.<* — so why not enjoy one with your sweet babies?
- Pick a short book to read aloud, make some delicious hot chocolate with jumbo marshmallows, and finish the night with hugs and kisses.
- Look at you — another great day with the kiddos.
3. Bake Mini Pies Together After Dinner

5. Go on a Nature Walk
- Listen, Thanksgiving break probably hasn’t even started, and you are already exhausted!
- It’s time to tire those kids out — and a nature walk will surely do the trick.✨
- You see, it’s not just walking you’re doing. You’re turning your kids into modern-day hunters and gatherers!
- Have the collect:
- Roly-polies
- An assortment of fall leaves
- Sticks
- Rocks
- You name it! MUHAHAHAHAHA!
6. Light Show
- It’s that time of year when somewhere nearby, a light show is happening.
- So gather the children — there’s a whimsical display calling their names!
- Watch as pure joy and wonder light up their sweet little faces.

7. Have a Puzzle or LEGO Building Challenge
- Time will FLY — and if we’re being honest, that’s kind of the point!
- It’s fun, time-consuming, and gets those little minds working because it’s also challenging.
- School isn’t the only place where they’re tested — home is too, during Thanksgiving break!
Kids don’t need to be glued to a screen for everyone to have a good time. There are so many ways to enjoy each other’s company without losing your mind this Thanksgiving break — you just need a little creativity.
Your kids will build beautiful, lasting memories they’ll always associate with your love and hard work. ❤️
