Making the Garlic Butter
To a saucepan over medium heat, begin melting butter. As the butter starts to melt, add in your minced garlic and and mix until fragrant. If the heat is too high, the garlic might brown and crisp—but hey, it’s garlic, so it’s still good no matter what!
Making the Tuna Filling
Drain the liquid from each can of tuna and add the tuna to a clean mixing bowl. Into the mixing bowl, add in your chopped onion, seasonings, squeeze of lemon, mustard, and mayo. Give it a good mix, taste it, and add more of anything if you feel it needs it.
If you’ve seen other recipe blog posts on here, you know that I don’t add a ton of specific measurements because I measure with my ❤️.
Tuna Melt Assembly
Spread the garlic butter on both sides of all your bread slices. Over medium-high heat, toast one side of two slices of bread, then flip. On the toasted side, add your cheese and as much tuna filling as you’d like.
Top the sandwich with the other slice of bread, flip again, and continue toasting until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
And there you have it- the Tuna Melt Sandwich!
