Hi girly! This may seem like a big list, but you don’t have to do them all or any of them. They are just suggestions that you can pick and choose from to challenge yourself during Lent. So, here are ten things that you can give up this Lenten season.

Social Media
- I don’t even want to see the face you’re making at me right now, pookie. I’m so sowwy, but…
- It’s been taking away the time you’re meant to spend with God.
- It’s making you compare yourself to the baddie on your feed.
- It’s making you become worldly, anxious, stressed, fearful.
- I know these things may not apply to you specifically, despite my ✨language✨, but try giving it up and see how the Lord uplifts you.
Fast-food
- The sheer convenience, time-saving, precious mouth-watering junk… “Whyyyyyyy 😖😩” I know.
- Why? Because you’ve been saying you were going to eat out less, so put yourself to the ultimate test- for yourself and for the Glory of our Lord.

Secular Music
- I know, I’m tripping with this one, but if it hurts you to read, maybe it’s one to consider.
- Try it out for 40 days, see what the Lord can do for you when your mind isn’t clouded, preventing you from hearing when He is speaking to you.
Cursing
- Do you have just a lil bit of a potty mouth and find these words slipping out often? Give it up.
- This one may be the hardest because it’s to do with speech that you are comfortable with, but we must also be modest in our speech– not just our clothing and behavior.

TV
- It’s easy to turn on the TV while you have dinner and just want to kick back and relax, so… give it up 😘
- Relax in the presence of the Lord; make Him your comfort and your dwelling place.
Non-religious Podcast
- Podcasts are amazing, and maybe you have a few faves that you can’t wait to listen to when you drive to work, work out, cook, etc.
- Give it up this season, and replace it with other Christian podcasts that teach you and bring you closer to God.

Meat
- I’m not even going to lie to you, this will NOT be on my list this year, but maybe it’ll be on yours!
- But as my girl, pray for me that I will be able to let it go one day for the Glory of God.
That one thing you crave the most
- What is that one thing that you almost can’t go a day with because you just love it that much?
- Are you thinking about that sweet little special something? Good- give it up. Replace it with the Lord.

Shopping
- I may have struck a nerve with this one. Spring is coming up, and you’re thinking about a new wardrobe, but give it up this time. Make something else of value during these next 40 days.
Drinking
- After a long day of work, you look forward to that cold cup of beer or nice glass of wine, but give it up this time. Make the Lord the new something you look forward to.

I might say “give it up,” so casually, but it’s because you and I know both now how hard it will be, yet it’s something that we should do regardless.
Just picking one or two things from this list or from your own is sure to make a difference in your life. Set your intentions for this Lent and stick to them. If you fail today, tomorrow’s a new day to succeed. Surrender it all to the Lord, and grow in your relationship with Him today and forever.
The season of lent has begun! Prepare your hearts for the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
God bless.
