Self-love is a journey, and it can start when you realize that, while you were with him, he was all that mattered. It’s true that in a relationship, you are meant to put your lover’s needs above your own, but that’s only because he is doing the same for you, creating a sense of equilibrium in the relationship.

However, when you are putting him above yourself and he isn’t doing it for you, that’s where the major issue lies. In this case, it’s time to pick you, choose you, and love you- until AND while someone else will.
